There are tons of options for makers when it comes to micro controllers and people are often asking what is the best to start with and what can they do.

This class is a 101 class to introduce micro controllers, setup a development environment and start playing around with them.

What are the differences between arduino, netduino,  and other variants and how to choose the best device for the task at hand.

Introduce the Arduino board and development environment

Hands on with the arduino including setting up the IDE and also doing some basic sketches.

If time allows we will play around with some sensors for input and output.

Required:  Bring your own laptop which we will setup the IDE as part of this class

Optional: Bring your own Arduino or variant if you own one.  Please make a note or send me an email so that I know you have one so that I can open up space for additional people.  I am limiting this class to the number of arduino's that I have.
