MS-L 3D Printing - Level 1 - QuickStart

The QuickStart Version of this class doesn't set aside time for printing. We will run through the class, show how to load and unload filament, but we will not do a print for each student. Class will be 1 Hour.

Welcome to 3D printing to learn how to turn plastic filament into useful items! The class is designed for those new to this process which uses a special-purpose printer that melts and forms spools of plastic filament into 3 dimensional objects. The class is also for those who have a 3D printer but want to learn more about it. This class certifies you to use the 3D Printers on your own. We will begin by learning about the different printers we have at our space, how to prepare a 3D file for printing, and each person will get to take home a toy that they printed themselves. There are many types of printers on the market and we have a good selection of them.

We will not go into how to design a 3D object because we will cover that in other classes. But we will show you how to find hundreds of great things that you can modify and print out. Please bring a laptop computer, but loaners are available.

The class will be complete in 90 minutes or less, but if we are printing a long time, we have blocked out additional time for it.
