This class provides a basic overview of Fusion 360. The first day will cover how to navigate the program, what tools are available, cloud file storage, and how bodies and components work. Day 2 will cover basics of designing in Fusion including defining a sketch plane, basic sketching tools, dimensions in sketches, adding sketch constraints, how to modify existing sketches, extruding and revolving sketches into bodies, making text, extrude cuts, patterning, and boolean operations. Day 3, the basics of Finite Element Analysis, will cover how to set up a static stress FEA, set up loads and constraints, interpret results of FEAs, and modify a design to increase factor of safety. Finally, day 4, basics of topology optimization and assemblies, will cover how to create joints, limit degrees of freedom in assemblies, create the form for topology optimization, run a topology optimization study in Fusion 360, conserve critical model geometries, load and constrain the model during the study, and use the results of the test to create an optimized part.
