In this 2-part intro workshop to the Tormach Make and Take, we will be making a "Keybar" which is a way to store multiple keys in a swiss army/pocket knife style. We will do a high level overview of the design, fixturing and milling operations. After this class the participants will get to take home their own "Keybar" and they will also get an good understanding of what the Tormach can do and have some idea of the things they will need to learn to become proficient on using the machine.
The two sessions will be 10/12 7-9pm & 10/14 7-9pm. You will need to attend BOTH
Introductory things covered in the workshop:
1. What is CAD
2. What is CAM
3. What are feeds and speeds
4. What is fixturing
5. Basic machine operation
6 Running a G-Code program
While this is not a red tool class, it will be a great intro for someone with no metal CNC milling experience and give them the opportunity to use the machine and understand the basics of what it can do.
