So you want a patent...

This class is an introduction to the patent process and will cover a lot of topics that should help take some of the mystery out the process of applying for a receiving a patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office.

We’ll discuss what a patent can do for you and what it can’t. We’ll also discuss doing the work yourself to get a patent without a lawyer, as well as how the process looks with a lawyer. (Spoiler Alert: One
method costs way more than the other.)

You’ll learn about the different types of patents, and get some hints about how to determine what your invention actually is, at least from the patent’s point of view.

The class will be in person in the classroom at the Leesburg location.  The class will be small enough to allow for questions and discussions.
